About the client
EXI is an evidence-based platform that analyzes user health and fitness — a Digital Therapeutic specializing in the science of exercise and behavior change. It enables patients to follow personalized activity programs and monitor real-time adherence.
The challenge
EXI’s legacy codebase had accumulated technical debt — frequent bugs, performance bottlenecks, scalability limits, and minimal tests. They hired Rootstrap to modernize the system and support their growth.
What we did
Rootstrap integrated health wearables (Apple Watch, FitBit) and built data flows feeding user and clinician dashboards; designed a CMS addressing 23 conditions; built a secure, penetration-tested, GDPR/HIPAA-compliant data portal; ensured compliance with FDA, NHS, GDPR/HIPAA and ISO standards; and added a rewards program to drive lasting behavior change.
