Ruby on Rails is a full-stack web framework for building database-backed applications, and it’s one of Rootstrap’s deepest areas of expertise. Convention over configuration, ActiveRecord, version-controlled migrations, and a mature ecosystem make Rails exceptional for products with moderate-to-high complexity, where developer velocity and long-term stability both matter. Our engineers contribute to the Rails community and speak at Rails conferences.

How we build it

We build Rails around proven patterns:

• Service objects for business logic
• RESTful JSON and GraphQL APIs for mobile and SPA frontends
• PostgreSQL as our standard database
• Sidekiq on Redis for background jobs

RSpec-driven testing, N+1 and query optimization, and secure defaults keep these systems maintainable as they grow to handle millions of users.

Proof it holds up

Rails is often the backbone of the platform work clients trust us with. For Emeritus, we stabilized and modernized a mission-critical Rails application that had suffered crashes and performance issues, replacing a legacy enrollment engine with a platform that holds up under real enrollment load. The embedded team grew to 30+ engineers to deliver it.
