About the client
Emeritus makes high-quality executive education accessible and affordable worldwide, collaborating with 80+ top-tier universities across the US, Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, India, and China. Its model has educated more than 500,000 people across 80 countries.
The challenge
Emeritus turned to Rootstrap to modernize the tech stack and improve a mission-critical web application. The Enrollment Engine suffered recurrent crashes that impacted enrollment and revenue, and needed a complete revamp — plus a migration plan away from a legacy, underperforming solution.
What we did
We grew the team from 4 engineers to a cross-functional team of 30+. We migrated Emeritus’s Salesforce-based system to higher-performing Ruby on Rails and React applications, implemented single sign-on (SSO), launched white-label subdomains for university partners, and established a scalable CI/CD process for smooth releases.
